AT YOUR HOME

THIS WEEKS LESSON: CLICK HERE

Dear Cornerstone parents,

We hope our awesome Cornerstone kids are enjoying their weekly lessons and activities at home. Please see below the links for this week in addition to extra material for each age group. We want to encourage you to enjoy and connect with the many groups via the online platform, Zoom. We ask you to have an extra activity box with blocks, Lego/Duplo, colouring papers and playdough for after the lesson and activities so the kids can play and continue doing things while you connect with others.

from Rana Jones,

on behalf of the Cornerstone Kids Teachers

LET'S GET READY! HERE IS A SIMPLE CHECK LIST

PLAN AHEAD

  • Set up a corner in your home with a throw, pillows and a device or laptop to show the online lessons.

  • Check the links for the lessons ahead of time and make sure they are downloaded and ready for the day – you’ll need to register yourselves with Life Church and it is for free.

  • Make sure your activity box is ready for the craft of the day: scissors, glue, coloured craft paper, white A4 paper, colouring pens, playdough, stickers and anything you want to add.

GET THE KIDS INVOLVED FROM THE BEGINNING OF THE MEETING

PARTICIPATE

  • Kids to join the countdown ready for the beginning of the service!

  • Encourage kids to join you in worship.

  • Get them to help prepare the elements for the breaking of bread. If they are too young then include them by giving them a cracker and juice so they feel part of what we are remembering and declaring.

  • Include them in the tithe and offerings as many kids have been giving to God and this is a wonderful opportunity for them to continue. As a local church we are building up our alms fund that will go towards supporting families in need. What a wonderful thing they can give towards.

  • Pray with them.

LAMBS & BEARS (3-6) YEARS OLD

2. SCRIPTURE

“He has given me the power of the Holy Spirit!”

Romans 15:19

3. CRAFT

A. Using craft paper, pick red, yellow, orange and white paper. Draw and cut different sized flame-like shapes and then glue them together to create a 3D feel flame. If you have glitter or white paint, with the tip of a wooden or plastic fork, dip the fork in glue and then just dab the top of each flame and then sprinkle some red, orange or gold glitter to give the flames a cool look! On the flame write the scripture and add it to your wall of scriptures!

B. Colouring sheet: click on this link and print out…

C. Below are four activity sheets and we would love the kids to start with the first one this Friday and then enjoy working through the rest throughout the week as this will further emphasis the topic and scripture. Our suggestion would be to print all four documents out and have them handy to work through.

3. WORSHIP

4. CRAFT

What was the Point today? Do good things and share, even when it’s hard to do.

A. Konnect HQ told us about how the church is the people and not the building we meet in. Read Acts 2:44-47 which tells us what being a Christian was like just after Jesus lived on earth (the early church).

Cornerstone Kids can’t meet together in person at the moment – how are we being a church from home? Are you doing any things like the early church? (e.g. meeting at home, watching Cornerstone online, maybe inviting friends over for food)

Share with your teachers on the zoom group some ideas for being like the early church.

B. How can we do good things and share? Get a blank piece of paper and write CHURCH in the centre. Then all around write/draw ideas of how we can do good and share with those in need. (e.g. spend time with a friend who is lonely, send a kind message, share our snacks or toys, play with siblings, help our parents with chores) Stick the paper up at home to remind us during the week of the things we can do.

C. It was Christmas at Konnect HQ. Why not have a mid-year Christmas at home with your family! You could make some special food, watch a Christmas film, play games, or anything else you do as a family for Christmas.

Make paper chain decorations: Cut coloured paper into strips, and then use glue or a stapler to make rings. Take the first piece of paper and glue it into a circle/ring. Then thread the next piece through the ring/circle, and glue the ends. Repeat until you have a long chain.
